I often hear about technical restrictions of using FFT and/or STFT and that wavelets are a better approach. However, when I look for tutorials/user guides on wavelets all I can find is tutorials/user guides for de-noising signals and images.
If anyone knows of a simple, user guide for the MatLab wavelet toolbox to perform time frequency analysis - ideally on biological signals (e.g. EMG or ECG) please can you post a link or a reference?
I struggle with the underlying maths, so the perfect resource will be a step by step guide or some example code.
