image combination

Hi all,
I am exploring the possibility of using Matlab to combine different images of a large picture. Say, I have a camera which can only take pictures within a certain view feild, so I will have to take many images that partially overlap to each other and then combine those to complete a large picture.
please let me know if this is possible in matlab
