Image transformation to correct lens distortion

Hi guys,

I am working on a project where I have two cameras and need to overlap snapshots taken from each one.

The photos are being taken using the same point of view but one camera has some lens distortion, which difficults the overlaping process.

Can anybody help me with ideas to achieve my goal?

One way is to calibrate the camera with distortion and use the parameters to undistort.

Another approach would be to use image alignment with image registration. Is it possible to do that to correct lens distortion?
